  5. The skin of the lids should be 
  6. examined for any "lumps or bumps" 
  7. or skin lesions.  It is best to have 
  8. the patients close their eyes and 
  9. scan the lids starting with the 
  10. upper lid from temporal to nasal 
  11. followed by the lower lid.
  12.  
  13. Low (7 to 10X) to moderate (10X to 
  14. 16X) magnification is used when 
  15. examining the lids with higher 
  16. magnification only used to study an 
  17. abnormality.  If too high a 
  18. magnification is used numerous 
  19. abnormalities may be missed.
